Busy

Summer has me very busy...with four kids, three dogs and family visiting there isn't much time for blogging!  I hope to return after a few weeks!  Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Father's Day

This is my dad.  He has been gone for 14 years.  I miss him terribly!  He had been a teacher and an assistant principal. He loved teaching Science!   He was the strongest person I have ever met. Such a great example to me...patient, loving, unselfish.   He was such a great dad...always spoiling me and involved in my life.  Happy Father's Day, Dad.  This post is in remembrance of you.  I can't wait to be reunited with you in Heaven someday.  Through Jesus this will be possible!

Outdoor Cuteness

A *new* vintage throw from a garage sale. Makes my cheap Home Depot red chair look cozier!

I couldn't pass up this old table.  Too cute!  No room in my house for it, but out on the deck, it's kind of cute!  I may dress it up with some flowers.  That's a cute puppy dog tail in the bottom of the picture.

Chalkware Lamp

I decided that I now am a "chalkware" collector!  I have enough pieces now I think to be considered a little collection.  Here's my latest - a peasant lady lamp.  Her colors are muted and she has a pretty, delicate face.  Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Another Trash Treasure

I found this cart on the curb waiting for the garbage collector.  It is farmhouse/shabby looking - I cleaned it up and dolled it up.  Now I love it in my kitchen! 

Estate Sale Find

I went to one of those estate sales, you know, the ones that are like going back in time...where there is LOTS of treasure but you might have to dig AND get dirty!!!  This guy's basement was FULL of treasure!  At first, I passed her by..she was COVERED in dirt and in a basement.   I even left the sale.  Then I started thinking about the frame...and the picture.  Where would I put it? I studied my house.  Found a spot...hmmm...I could get rid of that picture...and back I went, hoping it was still there.  I said a little prayer...and there she was...marked DOWN another ten bucks... $20!  I bought her home, gave her a good, careful bath and hung her up. It's called "Girl in Blue" by Philipp, with a serial number typed on the back.  I did some research and I think the real name of it is "Shelley on the Balcony."  The lady painted is sitting on a balcony of a hotel near Boston.  Neat!  Now she has a new home in my dining room.
